Irving J. Gill is the designer of the Bridge in Torrance,
the Depot, several business buildings in downtown Old
Torrance a 10 houses (five on Gramercy and five on Andreo).
None remain on Andreo. On Gramercy there are three remaining:
one has been so remodeled that is not recognizable, one
has been altered greatly, and only the third looks as
Irving J. Gill designed it; it is 1904 Gramercy Avenue.
The property sold last year and now Sunny and Steven Sohn
want to tear it down and replace it with new construction
of two units (condos) AND they are asking to exceed the
.50 floor area ratio (FAR), which was established on Gramercy
and Andreo to prevent over building on these small, narrow
